You can listen wherever you find podcasts.
Topics on the show include things like pipe welding, ironwork, and fabrication, but they certainly don’t stop there. One favorite episode is 234. I Just Want To Build Cool $h!t and Sell it w/ Emmett Russell. Emmett is known for his high-end ornamental stairs for residential homes, but he also works as a metal artist. He got his start as a handyman doing odd jobs out of a garage.
2.Pipe Welding Series: Bevel Talk
This welding podcast from Miller Electric Mfg. keeps you updated on what’s going on in the world of pipe welding. The show is educational and entertaining, with a wide range of viewpoints from industry experts. You can listen to Bevel Talk on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Player FM, or the show’s website on Buzzsprout.
Topics range from a discussion on non-destructive testing to the opportunities technology gives welding operators, from getting started in welding to what it means to be an industry leader in beveling and pipe welding. This show is hosted by Jody Collier of Welding Tips and Tricks, Jonathan Lewis of Superior Weld and Fab, and Roy Crumrine of Crummy Welding. Kevin Johnson hosts this discussion of all aspects of owning a welding business, from getting started, to navigating the early stages of a welding business, to hiring, reprimanding, and firing employees. Aside from a mammoth two-hours-plus long episode with the hosts of Arc Junkie and the CWB Association Podcast — which is only available to members of the Canadian Welding Bureau — episodes run from 20 to 40 minutes. One favorite is David – Dynamic Industries Episode 2, where David talks about what he would do differently if he were starting all over again.
5.WeldDotCom Podcast
The Weld.com podcast, hosted by Beau, offers resources not only for welders, but also for machinists, sculptors, engineers, artists, welding instructors, and CWIs. Most episodes run from 30 to 60 minutes, but there are outliers on both sides of that range. Listen on Anchor FM, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and via the show’s website.
This show is on the newer side, with only 59 weekly episodes under its belt, but it’s still earned 4.6 stars on Apple Podcasts. Topics run the gamut from women in welding to building a BBQ smoker. One favorite episode is Ep. 26: Metal Fabricator and Blacksmith, Leah Aripotch, who competed on the Netflix show, “Metal Shop Masters.”
6.The CWB Association Podcast
The Canadian Welding Bureau Association hosts a podcast that on the website is only available to members, but if you go to the association’s YouTube channel you can watch host Max Ceron as he interviews people who are passionate about welding. This is one of the most entertaining podcasts for welders. You can also listen on Apple Podcasts, Audible, and Amazon Podcasts.
Anything and everything you can think of related to welding have probably been covered on this entertaining show. One favorite episode is Episode 79 with The Red Bench and Max Ceron. Max interviews Mackenzi and Jolene from The Red Bench in Edmonton, Alberta about their dream of opening an inclusive welding space for women and the LBGTQIA+ community.
7.Weld Wednesday with AWS
The American Welding Society partners with Jason Becker of Arc Junkies, to put out a podcast episode on the first Wednesday of the month. There are only 19 episodes so far, but they’re chock full of usable information on various welding topics. Expert guests join Jason on the show. Listen on the Arc Junkies podcast wherever you find podcasts or on the AWS website.
On this highly informative show, topics covered include career-advancing certifications, WPSs and PQRs, and welding qualifications. Guests run the gamut from welding artists to Senior Certified Welding Inspectors.
