Just like other professional contractors, electricians in the state of Maine must offer proof of the appropriate education and training (or the equivalent) for the license they would like, as well as pass the state-approved exam. Their license then must be updated every two years.
In the state of Maine, senior electrician licenses are also available for electricians who are 70-years-old or older; the senior electrician license renewal fee is reduced to $20.00.
